Medicare and Medicaid do not reimburse you for electric wheelchair and scooter lifts. Another option is to go through your vehicle’s manufacturer. Ford, GM, and Toyota have great reimbursement plans that vary depending on the make of your vehicle, so contacting them directly is the best direction to go in. Below, you will find programs for these manufacturers.

Ford— offers up to $1,200 reimbursement
You can contact Ford at 1-800-952-2248, or 1-800-565-8986 in Canada. You can also find more information about their mobility reimbursement program at Ford's website.
 
GM— offers up to $1,000 reimbursement
Driver controls and some other types of equipment may also qualify in GM's reimbursement program. You can contact GM directly at 800-323-9935, or 800-263-3777 or 905-644-6624 in Canada. You can also visit GM's website.
 
Toyota/Lexus— offers up to $1,000 reimbursement 
You may contact Toyota or Lexus for eligibility requirements at the Toyota or Lexus websites where they explain their programs, or check with any authorized Toyota or Lexus dealer.
